In cooperation with the institute of Medical Virology, University Hospital of Tübingen, and the Department of Neonatology at the University Hospital of Tübingen, further the companies "Klaus Lauf, Medizintechnik und Sonderbau" and Virex GmbH the device VIREX II now in Version IV was developed to treat breast milk in a simple and fast way, so that human Cytomegalovirus (HCMV) is reliably inactivated and other milk ingredients, such as proteins and enzymes will kept their activity best and do not denature. The inactivation of virus in small volumes of milk (15 - 95 ml) will be done under common standards of hygiene.

In just 90 seconds the virus inactivation is completed with a short-time heat treatment in an absolute reliable process. All individual inactivation steps are documented by a line printer.
